Whose Body is This?

Target your mind, your body will follow

By setting clear mental goals or being intentional about your thoughts, you streamline physical actions and behaviors to naturally align with those objectives. As you progress along this linear path, the force of attraction towards your goals intensifies. It's like a magnetic pull, drawing you closer to what you desire. The more you advance, the stronger the connection becomes, fueling your motivation and determination.

Appreciating your own body is a wonderful way to cultivate self-love and improve your overall well-being. Here are some ways to begin appreciating and embracing your body right now:

Practice Gratitude: Start each day by expressing gratitude for your body. Acknowledge the amazing things it's been through, does for you; from breathing to moving and everything in between.

Focus on Strengths: Shift your focus from perceived flaws to your body's strengths and capabilities. Celebrate what your body can do, no matter what that is.

Positive Affirmations: Use positive affirmations to remind yourself of your body's beauty and worth. Speak kindly to yourself and replace negative self-talk with empowering statements.

Mindful Self-Care: Engage in self-care practices that honor your body. This can include pampering (as defined by you), nourishing meals, regular exercise, replenishing sleep, and relaxing activities (like reading, taking a walk in nature, etc.) that promote well-being.

Celebrate Uniqueness: Embrace your body's uniqueness and let go of comparisons as much as you can. That may mean a social media or television detox. Remember that there is no one else like you, as you are exceptionally unique. From the tiniest microorganisms to the vast array of plants and animals, we all posses our own distinct characteristics and DNA. The diversity of experiences, cultures, and perspectives further adds to life's matchlessness. No two lives are exactly alike, making each individual journey a one-of-a-kind and irreplaceable story in the vast tapestry of existence.

Surround Yourself with Positivity: Surround yourself with people who uplift and support you but more than that, be your own cheerleader. Your own judge, jury, and executioner (executioner of fruitless thoughts). Avoid negative influences that may contribute to body image issues.

Wear What Makes You Feel Good: Dress in clothes that make you (not the people around you) feel confident and comfortable. Wear styles that express your personality and make you feel good about yourself. Unapologetically so.

Limit Media Influence: Be mindful of media that promotes unrealistic body standards. Consume content that promotes body positivity and diversity.

Body Acceptance Exercises: Engage in body acceptance exercises, such as body scanning or mirror work, to foster a more positive relationship with your body.

Ask for Help: If you're struggling with body image issues, consider seeking support from a therapist, counselor or peer support specialists who specialize in body positivity and self-acceptance.

Appreciating your own body is a journey, and it's okay to have challenging moments. Be patient with yourself, and with time and practice, you can develop a more loving and appreciative relationship with your body.
